What is Vapor Blasting?

Known by a variety of different names such as Wet Blasting, Vapor Honing, Dustless Blasting, Liquid Honing, etc., Vapor Blasting is a surface refinishing and cleaning technique utilized for cleaning and conditioning alloy surfaces. First developed by Rolls Royce in the UK during World War II, Vapor Blasting consists of a mixture of water, compressed air, and abrasive media to gently clean and degrease metal surfaces. Because the abrasive rides on a cushion of water, it is not as harsh as traditional dry media blasting (aka sandblasting) on surfaces and media does not get embedded into surfaces. The resulting blasted finish is a lovely satin that is easy to keep clean.

Why Vapor Blasting?

The process of Vapor Blasting not only cleans metal surfaces, it also peens and seals them to create a finish that withstands grease, fingerprints, oil and grime. Once blasting is complete, your metal parts will have a beautiful finish that is easy to maintain.

What About Painted Parts?

Painted parts are no problem! In addition to our metal finishing process we also offer stripping of most painted parts prior to finishing. Vapor blasting can strip existing paint for a different look or to prepare your parts for repainting, powdercoating, or anodizing.

Is Vapor Blasting Limited To Only Automotive and Motorcycle Applications?

No! In addition to cleaning and conditioning motorcycle and automotive parts, we've used our Vapor Blasting process to recondition tools, antiques, and hardware. We've refinished a variety of different metal products such as Aluminum, Brass, Magnesium, Stainless Steel, Cast Iron, Bronze, Copper and Zinc alloys.

Well, not really. But I started Colorado Vapor Blasting for three reasons:

#1. I'm a motorcycle nut with a special fondness for vintage British bikes.

#2. I could not find reliable Vapor Blasting Services for my own bike builds.

#3. I get immense satisfaction from breathing new life into crusty old parts.

After 20+ years of tinkering with old motorcycles and 8+ years working professionally with vintage British motorcycles and parts, offering Vapor Blasting services seemed like a logical step.
